Le Joli Mois de Mars

March came and went. And I didn't blog one bit. I'm not about to try and find excuses. I don't really have any.
Life is tough for the Canadian and I these days. I won't go into details, but it is. So we try to enjoy the little things.
Here are some of those little things we did and loved in March.

The weather started warming up and the temperatures became unseasonably high.
This felt normal to me, I am from Paris, after all.
But melting snow and warm sunshine isn't normal for March in Ottawa.
We made the most of it - or so we thought - and enjoyed our first iced drink of the season.

Then we discovered something big. There are Five Guys restaurants in Canada.
So we drove to the closest one and enjoyed a (good) taste of the US.

Since we're talking about (good) food, husband took me to the Keg for the first time.
He is a regular there, but I had never been.
We had so much fun.
Husband made me cry more than once... because I was laughing so hard.
 And the food was amazing.
And yes, there are Keg restaurants in the US.

And then something magical happened.
The weather became even warmer.
So we went for walks.
And for ice cream.
And for iced drinks in this little coffee shop we love, where we usually go in the Summer and read for hours on the sunny patio.
I got blisters on my feet from wearing ballet flats for the first time this year.
And I posed awkwardly to proudly showcase the fact that, yes, I am wearing a tee-shirt in March, in Canada, and, no, I'm not cold! (I'm actually a little hot).

And as March is coming to an end, it is from Paris that I tell you "à bientôt" and "zoubi-zou- bisous".
I just got here yesterday and I am enjoying the warm weather (I might have forgotten to mention that the warm weather in Canada didn't last) and the good company.
I do miss my husband very much, but he is off to seek some even warmer weather in southern California.

March 8th.

Today might be International's Women Day, but to me it has always been one special woman's day.
It's my Mama's birthday!

She came to visit us last week and we had such a great time.
She got to see an enchanted forest after a snowstorm, wear silly coats, and feed the wild animals in the Omega Park.

Also, she bought me the boots I needed to survive in this country.
(who knew Uggs didn't cut it? well. they don't)

We have a ton of beautiful photos.
On her camera.
In Paris.
Fail.
