A Few Days in Prague

My dear husband joined me in Europe for the Holidays. We had an amazing time in Paris. We celebrated Christmas with my family, enjoyed lunches and champagne with my friends, celebrated my great-grandmother 100th birthday. He flew back this morning, but we made time for a quick getaway right after Christmas.

We flew to Prague the day after Christmas for a four day stay.
I'm so glad we chose to go to Czech Republic in December! Prague was all decked out for Christmas & it was absolutely magical.

Much needed Starbucks run after our 7AM flight.

Beautiful little streets.

Prague is definitely not stilettos-friendly!

 The castle.

Excuse the messy hair, it was windy!

 Costa café, the Czech Starbucks.

My rabbit fur earmuffs were put to good use!

Saint Vitus Cathedral.

 Praha!

 On Charles Bridge.

Prague has the most beautiful Art Nouveau cafés.

I have to admit we weren't fans of the food. Except for a few good meat dishes (Czech roasted duck is supposedly very good), it was mostly over salted and heavy.

 The view from the Monastery.

Restaurant decor I fell in love with.

The Charles Bridge from afar.

Costa is actually British I think, but it has invested heavily in Easter European countries (Starbucks wasn't so keen on doing so).

It looks like you've had a fabulous time and it's great to see you smiling! :) I am also envious, because going to Prague has always been one of my dreams. My mum keeps telling me that I have to go there. :) X

I have followed your blog for a couple months now, and I think you and your husband make such a sweet couple. I know that the long-distance relationship is hard, but I'm sure your reunions make it worth the sacrifice!

Good luck, and I hope you will be together soon!

obsessed with prague. my mom is from prague and my grandma makes us czech food all the time!! my favorite is the dumplings... but when we're there the restaurant food isn't very good. home cooked czech food is much much better.

I'm so glad I happened across your blog, what lovely photos. I visited Prague in 2007 and loved it! My family is Czech so it was special for me, but I wasn't a fan of the food at all either :)
