Before he left for Canada, my husband and I decided to escape the city for a day.
I wanted to see the ocean sea, so we decided on Normandy. I love Normandy and my husband is a little bit of a WW2 nerd so it was perfect. We drove there early one Friday morning and we invited my dad to come with us.
We went to Deauville, a posh and pretty city where the American Film Festival is held every year.
From there we drove to Villers-sur-Mer, a town nearby where I went a few times as a kid.
We then drove along the coast to see the D-Day landing beaches. This was something I had always wanted to do and I really want to go back for a more "in depth" trip. Especially since all the museums are closed in January.
Deauville is a pretty town!
How adorable is this tiny Louis Vuitton store?
All bundled up.
With my love.
The sand looked straight out of a desert!
Juno Beach, where the Canadian troops landed on D-Day.
