The Honeymoon Tales - Phuket

We flew to Phuket from Chiang Mai. We wanted to spend a few days at the beach and relax after our busy time in Bangkok and the North. We arrived in Phuket and went straight to Nai Yang beach in Sirinat National Park, where our resort was. We got there just in time to see the amazing sunset on Nai Yang beach.

While dining on the beach we saw people lighting lanterns à la Tangled. It was so pretty and romantic.

Our beach was huge and gorgeous. Since it was in a National Park, we decided to explore a little further from the usual touristic hotspots.

One day we rented bicyles and rode them to Hat Nai Ton, the next beach. We thought it would be an easy ride and boy were we wrong ! It was so hot and the road was so steep I thought I was going to pass out.

That night we discovered a cute little farmers market in Hat Nai Yang.

We were the only tourists there and it was one of our rare opportunities to see the "real" Phuket.

The next day we went on a speedboat excursion to the amazing Phang Nga Bay, famous for its limestone cliffs.

The horizon was absolutely breathtaking.

We were really glad we chose a speedboat excursion. Those longboats are awfully loud & very slow.

We visited the famous James Bond island. If you don't know why it's called like that, you need to watch The Man with the Golden Gun

In the Bay, we got out the speedboat and embarked on kayaks to explore the many caves of the Bay.
There were so many paradisiac little caves & creeks.

Some of them were quite impressive, with an amazing view of the Bay.

We had lunch at Koh Pannyi (also known at the Sea Gipsy Island), the only island of the Bay where people actually live.

After lunch we stopped at the most beautiful and paradisiac island on our way back, where we got to enjoy the sun & ocean.

Swimming there was amazing. You could see fish around you, the water was so warm, the scenery breathtaking.

We enjoyed one last sunset before flying back to Bangkok.

Next up : Bangkok, part 2 !

Gorgeous, I almost screamed when I saw the post in my reader because Tim and I are planning a trip here next week. I racked your brain about Paris, and now I may have to do it about Phuket! ;) I love all of these pictures! I was just on your blog showing him pictures of Bangkok, now I can show him this!
